Geoff Chapin is an accomplished entrepreneur and leader in the field of sustainable technology and environmental innovation. He is best known as the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Carbonwave, a company pioneering the development of advanced biomaterials from seaweed. Carbonwave focuses on transforming sargassum seaweed, a resource that has often been considered a waste product, into valuable materials that can replace harmful industrial inputs like petroleum. Under his leadership, the company has developed products like SeaBalance, the first seaweed-based cosmetic emulsifier, and Sarga Power, a seaweed extract used in large-scale agriculture.
In addition to his work with Carbonwave, Geoff Chapin is involved in various other ventures aimed at sustainability and environmental impact. He is the board chair of Prime Coalition, an organization focused on unlocking capital to combat climate change, founded Next Step Living, a residential energy retrofit company that served over 140K homes in New England, worked at Bain consulting in NY and San Francisco and is a graduate of MIT Sloan and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
