Kestutis Sadauskas

Deputy Director-General in the Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries

Kęstutis Sadauskas is the Deputy Director-General in the Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the European Commission. Prior to this position he held numerous public sector posts related to European Affairs. From 1993 to 2006, he served in the Lithuanian Foreign Service, specializing in multilateral issues. In September 2006, he assumed the role of Head of the Representation of the European Commission in Vilnius, furthering his commitment to European integration. From April 2010 to October 2014, Sadauskas served as the Head of the Cabinet of Commissioner Algirdas Šemeta, overseeing important areas such as Taxation, Customs, Anti-fraud, Audit, and Statistics. Following this, from November 2014 to March 2022, he contributed his expertise as the Director for Circular Economy and Green Growth at the DG Environment of the European Commission. He is a Lithuanian national, with a Masters degree in Political Science/International Relations and Geography from Vilnius University.
