ACUA Ocean
Neil has been hands on developing marine autonomous systems in COO and CEO positions since 2016 and was one of the founding members of the GEBCO-NF Alumni team that won the 2019 Shell Ocean Discovery XPRIZE competition.
His work at ACUA Ocean has focused on the development of scalable technology to increase marine monitoring, protection and data collection. Alongside his co-founder, Neil has built ACUA from an idea to an operational business working on delivering protection and data monitoring projects around the world.
Born in Durban, South Africa, Neil studied at the University of KwaZulu Natal where he received his Master’s in Geology cum laude, going on to complete an MBA at the University of Stellenbosch. He also holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Ocean Mapping from the University of New Hampshire.
